COACHING

 We have created the registration for anyone that would like to be considered for a coaching position for any of the programs that GYHA has to offer.  We need volunteers to help with the Learn To Play program on Monday nights.  We also need coaches seasonally for the Mites hockey skills session on Wednesday nights.  (Safesport  certification and background check are required)

Calling All Coaches!!!

The Greensboro Youth Hockey Association (GYHA) is accepting applications for coaches interested in helping out for the 2024-2025 season! 

If you are interested in helping coach the 6U/8U Mites or Lady Stars teams as a head coach, assistant coach, skills coach, or practice coach, please submit an application using the registration link provided below.  

Coaching Requirements:

All GYHA Coaches must complete the USA Hockey and CAHA requirements.  

  • USA Hockey Number
  • SafeSport
  • USA Hockey Screening (background check)
  • Coaching Modules 
  • Coaching Clinic

These requirements are to be completed by July 31st, with the exception of the Coaching Clinic, which is due by December 31st.

USA Hockey Age-Specific Modules

Use this link to find the modules you need to take for the upcoming season. Due before 8/31 NO EXCEPTIONS.

CAHA Background Screening

Use this link to complete your CAHA/USA Hockey background screening. This must be done by Coaches, Team Managers, & Locker Room attendants before any contact with players. Due no later thank 8/31 NO EXCEPTIONS!

SafeSport

Use this link to complete your SafeSport program. Required by all Coaches, Team Managers, Locker Room attendants, and general Volunteers. Due before the beginning of the season. Due no later than 8/31 NO EXCEPTIONS!

American Development Model

The American Development Model is a nationwide model for successfully developing American hockey players. It is a tool that will ensure every kid will have a great chance to succeed. By implementing USA Hockey's ADM, associations will deliver more efficient skill development, will produce more skilled players and experience an increase in player retention. The ADM is a nationwide blueprint designed specifically to help kids reach their full potential.
